Nick Cannon thanks fans for their condolences after baby son's death

Nick Cannon thanked fans on Tuesday for their “outpouring of love” after the death of his newborn son at only three months old.

Cannon’s wife, Mariah Carey, confirmed Monday that their son had passed away.

“We are deeply saddened to confirm that our precious son, Moroccan Scott Cannon, has passed away,” Carey said in a statement posted to Instagram, alongside a picture of her little boy. “He was surrounded by family and we ask that you please respect our privacy during this devastating time.”

The couple welcomed their third child in October. Cannon posted an image of his wife holding Moroccan and captioned it “My new addition to our family” .

The couple have been married since 2008 and have twins. Cannon announced in 2016 that they were expecting their third child .

Carey is still mourning the death of her ex-husband, ex-husband.

Earlier this month, former “American Idol” judge and Cannon’s close friend Steven Tyler announced he was being treated for throat cancer.

“Nick has texted me to keep me posted on everything,” Tyler posted on Twitter. “That’s the kind of guy Nick is. My prayers and best wishes go out to him and his family.”

Cannon praised Tyler for the kind words and tweeted: “My thoughts and prayers go out to the beautiful Tyler family and all of you during this very difficult time.”

Cannon also thanked fans for their “outpouring of love.”

“I appreciate your thoughts and prayers,” he said. “My focus right now is my family, my dear friend and my son.”
