A Toronto private school was sued over a student’s alleged sexual assault. The school’s name was kept secret until now.
The school was accused of failing to protect a student from a group of classmates who were acting “like a gang.” The student was a minor.
The accused students were told “it was not acceptable to use students as sex toys.”
The accused students were also accused of not reporting the sexual assault when they were told by police.
The school says the student was expelled after being “expelled” and that they are now trying to find a new placement for the student.
The accused students will not admit guilt.
Lawyers for the accused accused students will say “we are not willing to admit that what has happened did occur,” despite some of the evidence.
The student who claimed there was a gang of girls who acted like “a gang” on the school trip says the situation made her “mad.”
The alleged gang was not the only issue at the school. The school says the alleged gang “took advantage” of girls who were “young and impressionable” but who did not show up at the school that day.
“We are not willing to admit that what has happened did occur,” says lawyer for the accused accused students, James Hunter.
The school claims it “immediately terminated any relationship with the student in connection with the incident and was unaware of any potential misconduct involving further students.”
The school also claims the accused students were also not guilty because they were “expelled” from the school. According to the school, the student was expelled after “he chose to leave the school premises.”
“We apologize to all those who have been involved in this situation and any who have seen any part of the incident or have felt negatively as a result,” says the school.
But a student at the school says the allegations made against the accused students had nothing to do with the school’s decision to expel the alleged gang.
