World Cup winner and former Liverpool and Real Madrid player trains with staff at Guadiaro beach resort
Xabi Alonso, a World Cup winner with Spain in 2010 and one of the most influential players of his generation, has returned to Barcelona. Alonso has been based in Germany for the past two years and has trained with Sevilla in recent weeks. However, the ex-Real Madrid and Liverpool midfielder will not be returning to the La Liga side for next season.
Alonso has been working at the beach resort of Guadiaro on the Costa Brava and tweeted a picture to his 112,000 followers of himself in a car with the T.regal brand emblazoned on the sides.

In a video message, uploaded by his agent Simon Briggs to his Instagram account, Alonso said: “Happy to come home and to invite some of the people who are part of my past to spend Christmas with me, but I have to say at the moment this holiday will be full of sporting commitments so I am sorry to say my holiday will be a completely different one than what everyone knows.”
Alonso made a name for himself with La Masia, Barcelona’s famed academy, but had to move to Real Madrid as a teenager to make the breakthrough. He then moved to Liverpool in 2006 and won six Premier League titles before returning to La Liga with Bayern Munich in 2010.
He spent three seasons in Germany with Bayern before joining Real Madrid in 2014, but he left a year later and completed his comeback this summer, joining La Liga rivals Sevilla.
